Plenty of big winners emerged Saturday night as at least 6,000 people were on hand at Jacksonville Veterans Memorial Arena for the 14th Annual Guns N’ Hoses fight night to raise money for local charities.
The exhibition event pits law enforcement members against fire and rescue members in amateur boxing matches.
To date the event has raised about $1.5 million for local causes.
“It’s all about the cause and them sticking their neck out there to do what they can,” said Robert McClain, who recently retired from the Jacksonville fire department after a little more than 30 years of service. “They win just by stepping in the ring.”
