New generation of Wisconsin State Troopers

Over 130 miles of interstate is covered by the Wisconsin State Patrol, and it’s excited to have more troopers patrolling the roads again.

“We haven’t had a class since 2008, so this is an opportunity for us to really enhance public safety and highway safety in the area,” said Commander of the Northwest Region State Patrol, Jeffrey Frenette.

After being shorthanded last year by 9 troopers due to deployment and retirement, Frenette says this will be a positive change for the surrounding area.

“The field training will cover every aspect from motorists to crash investigations, criminal interdiction, writing citations and warnings,” said Frenette.
