East Tennessee K-9 officers were top dogs in NYC

Two East Tennessee K-9 teams got some top honors at a recent competition in the Big Apple.

The Loudon County Sheriff’s Office K-9 unit, along with Detective Sergeant Robert Suarez of the Clinton Police Department, traveled to New York City on August 25th for the World Police and Fire Games.

Hurricane Irene caused a delay, so some of the participants had to return home before the competition, but Loudon County Sheriff’s Office Lt. Paul Curtis with K-9 Deacon, and Sgt. Suarez with K-9 Rush, stayed to compete in every event that included obedience, agility, search and protection, doing well in all of their events.
