Money confiscated from drug dealers has paid for the training of Palatine police officers, purchase of their stun guns, and now it will pay for more than $60,000 worth of exercise equipment to help keep officers fit.

The Village Council approved the $64,934.03 purchase of refurbished equipment that will be installed in a training room in the new Palatine Police Department, expected to be completed by the end of the year.

The Police Department is moving from 200 E. Wood St. to a $22 million new building at 595 N. Hicks Road.
