Police Officer Timothy Shoemaker was recently named Drug Abuse Resistance Education Officer of the Year by DARE America for the impact he has made in the school district and community.

Shoemaker, 35, has been a DARE teacher for the last eight years, and was named New Jersey’s DARE Officer of the Year in 2009.

Shoemaker talks to students in Grades K-4 twice a year, and conducts 13 lessons for fifth-graders. He also holds an assembly and after-school program for seventh-graders and assemblies at Ramsey High School.
