A small army of nosy neighbors, technology, the Internet and a full-time detective help the Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Office keep tabs on hundreds of registered sex offenders.
But Sheriff Eric Williams worries most about the convicted sex offenders who may be here without the knowledge of authorities and neighbors.
“We know for a fact that there are people in our community that, by statute, should be registered that are not. We just don’t know who they are yet,” Williams said.
