Law enforcement agencies have long embraced using cameras to record evidence while in the field, but they have been limited by relying on dashboard cameras.
Dashboard-mounted cameras can capture a lot, especially during high-speed pursuit. But they have one view — straight ahead.
Now, police officers can wear cameras.
“It gives us the ability to record what happened from start to finish, no snippets. We have the ability to record from the officers’ point of view,” said Sgt. Paul Nonnast of the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office in Kansas.
