On a normal Thursday, Detective Ryan Robbins would have put on a button-down shirt and tie, said goodbye to his children and headed to work in the major crimes division of the Marion County Sheriff’s Office.

But this day, he dressed in a pair of camouflage pants, a black T-shirt and a yellow vest. He shoved his feet into black combat boots, grabbed his M4 rifle and joined a speeding caravan of law enforcement vehicles.
