Jim Hart has been promoted from lieutenant to one of three chief deputies of the Sheriff’s Office, the agency said Monday.
A lieutenant and two sergeants also have risen from the ranks to fill leadership positions in the wake of Hart’s promotion, sheriff’s deputy April Skalland said in a statement. The promotions follow the upcoming retirements this summer of Deputy Chief Len Lofano and Sgt. Dan Campos. Hart and the other three men will assume their new roles Thursday.
Hart, 46, has worked for the Sheriff’s Office since 1988. He graduated from Harbor High School and University of Nevada at Reno where he played Division I basketball.
Hart also graduated from the Sherman Block Leadership Academy and is an adjunct faculty member at Cabrillo College.
