RIP, Jagger.

————-

Jagger, one of the most celebrated police dogs in the history of Wake County law enforcement, died Friday after a yearlong battle with cancer. He was 10 years old.

Jagger made headlines in 2009 when he saved the life of Wake Deputy Bradley Manville, his handler and law enforcement partner, while apprehending a burglary suspect in Wendell.

The Belgian Malinois succumbed to his illness about 11 a.m. Friday at the Kildaire Animal Hospital in Cary. He was surrounded by Manville’s family, friends and law enforcement officers.
