Mothers Against Drunk Driving and the Avoid the 14 DUI Task Force honored 79 law enforcement officers from 11 jurisdictions in Ventura County for their expertise in taking drunk drivers off the road. Together, the officers made more than 2,700 DUI arrests last year.
They were recognized at an advanced training seminar in Ventura on April 27.
The training session covered laws and procedures in making arrests for driving under the influence.
Three of the award winners were K-9 officers. Their police dogs received a chew toy, snacks and an American flag neckerchief.
Officer Brett Lynsky of the CHP’s Moorpark office made 85 DUI arrests in 2010, making him the top officer.
