The public is invited to attend a memorial and candlelight vigil honoring the lives of 14 law enforcement officers from Prince William County who lost their lives in the line of duty over the last 40 years.
The event is scheduled for 7 p.m. Tuesday in the auditorium of the Ferlazzo Building in Woodbridge.
Officers who either lived or served in Prince William will be honored. The most recent death occurred last year, when 32-year-old Paul Dittamo (DITT-uh-moe) of Woodbridge was killed after his cruiser struck a utility pole as he responded to an accident scene. He was a District of Columbia police officer.
