Fond du Lac police officer wounded in March shooting returns to work

A Fond du Lac police officer who suffered two bullet wounds the morning of March 20 will return to work Monday.

Officer Ryan Williams will begin with limited duty and then be re-evaluated in June, said Lt. Aaron Goldstein.

Officers arrived at the home of James M. Cruckson, 30, of 24 S. Lincoln Ave., to investigate a report of a sexual assault and to check the welfare of a 6-year-old girl reportedly in the home. The girl was later located at a nearby home.
