Part of Mayfield Road dedicated to Cleveland Heights policeman Thomas Patton who died in line of duty

A portion of U.S. Route 322 (Mayfield Road) in the city has been dedicated to Officer Thomas F. Patton, who died in the line of duty last year.

On March 15, the Ohio Senate passed Senate Bill 80, which designates the portion of Mayfield between Coventry and Warrensville Center roads as the “Officer Thomas F. Patton II Memorial Highway.”

Police Chief Jeffrey Robertson said this is a fitting tribute to a promising young officer who was liked by everyone he worked with.
