A Town and Country police officer might be considered a one-man crime fighting machine for the impressive number of drunk drivers he’s busting. He’s made almost 1,080 DUI arrests in 14 years with the department, which is well above the average for most officers. His mode of operation is simple: he never stops making stops.
“When I’m looking for drunk drivers, I don’t sit. I like driving around,” said Officer Scott Schlager Wednesday night as his 12-hour shift began. Ten minutes later was the first stop of the day.
