An NYPD cop showed himself to be a real Prince Charming on Broadway Monday night.

After the cast of the musical “Cinderella” took their bows, NYPD sergeant Alan Chau, 30, took the stage with his girlfriend of almost five years, Maria Roca, 28.

As friends of the Queens lovebirds held up signs that asked, “Maria, will you marry me?” Chau dropped to one knee and popped the question.

“I’m here because I love you,” the romantic cop said in the fairy tale moment, presenting his bride-to-be with a shiny engagement ring.

Now officials are looking for the public’s help to move forward.

Through the last year, the Sheriff’s Office has been implementing new technological advances, like in-car cameras in the Winterhaven patrol cars, upgrades to the website, a new fingerprint system, crime reporting maps, a text message service and more.

“It’s exciting times,” said Jerry Godsey, scientific investigations supervisor. “We’re really moving, pushing the envelope where we can.”

Cobb himself was part of that readjustment. He took over the department in January 2012 after then-Police Chief R.T. Finney retired in 2011.

A Phoenix police officer who survived being shot six times said he wants to return to work as a soon as possible, even though his jaw is wired shut and a bullet remains lodged in his back.

Peter “Chris” Bennett appeared Tuesday at a news conference at a Phoenix hospital, where he’s recovering from gunshot wounds to the right side of his face, his right hip and right arm.

The 4 1/2-year veteran spoke through a wired-shut, swollen jaw alongside the surgeon who cut and cleaned his wounds, reconstructed his ear and wired his fractured jaw.

“I actually feel pretty amazing, all things considered,” said Bennett, 36.

Bennett underwent surgery Monday. He was shot Sunday night while patrolling alone in an area of the city known for a high burglary rate, police said.

The officer spotted a man in dark clothes acting suspiciously while riding a bicycle.

“The department itself has been around since 1882,” Harold Eley with the Newport News Police Department said. “We have a long long tradition of good police work. It’s ["Cops"'s 25th anniversary. [I think us] being on the show showing what we do… people would be excited about that.”
