5K run to raise money for Scranton Police Department’s K9 unit

When Scranton police K9 Officer Ecko became his partner earlier this year, Officer Kyle Kemp got the best job in the department.

“It doesn’t get any better in patrol,” Officer Kemp said. “It’s the best job in patrol and probably the most rewarding.”

But the perks of having a four-legged partner come at a high price between training equipment, medical expenses and food.

So, on Saturday, the Scranton Police Department will hold its second 5K run through the city to raise money for the entire K9 unit.
