Double Duty: Fire Investigator Becomes Trained Reserve Police Officer
As a career firefighter for 10 years, and a volunteer firefighter since he was 15, Jeromy Hicks has been on all sorts of emergency calls during his career. But even for a veteran
firefighter and paramedic like himself, a recent experience pushed the limits.
Hicks, who is the public outreach coordinator at Mason County Fire District 2, has been investigating fires at the district for two years. Last year, he went through the six-month law enforcement academy for reserve officers, offered jointly by the Mason County Sheriff’s Office and Shelton Police Department.
