Staying put’s a tough command for K-9 officer
Frankfort Police Officer Derrick Napier was working undercover on a cocaine deal as part of a federal investigation when something almost blew his cover.
A car pulled up and parked next to Napier’s unmarked, tinted SUV in the parking lot of a Lexington bowling alley. The driver got out and began loading high-powered rifles and pistols, then tucked them out of sight.
Napier, who was watching the action from a video surveillance system while lying in the back of the SUV, told his partner Ronnie to keep quiet.
“… Because he likes to bark,” Napier, a K-9 officer, recalled Wednesday.

Parachute P.D. adds K-9 unit
Bady is a four year old police dog who recently joined the force. His human partners are excited to have him on the team saying he’ll help in lots of ways.
Bady is trained to sniff out drugs and is expected to be out on patrol along I-70 helping to search suspicious vehicles. His super nose and dedication to the job will also help increase officer safety, assist in building searches and more.
