The long paw of the law: LPD’s K-9 unit racking up arrests

The three Logan police officers who work alongside a K-9 say their furry partners are well worth the time and financial commitment they require.

Bas and Endy — both Belgian Malinois — and an energetic black Lab named Jaxon work with the officers to keep them safe and find drugs during traffic stops, search warrants and everyday patrol work.

Over the past 10 months, the three dogs have made 35 drug busts, taking more than $46,000 worth of illegal narcotics off the streets of Logan.
