Portsmouth police welcome new K9, Bruin

The city’s new police dog, K-9 Bruin, was introduced to the community Wednesday night when he was described by handler and officer Scott Pearl as “very alert and ready to work.”

Pearl said the 14-month-old German shepherd obeys German commands and is learning to track scents by following bits of hot dogs. “He’s constantly on the lookout,” Pearl said.
