New police dog on O’side force

The police have a new dog on the force, thanks largely to donations from local business owners and residents, a police lieutenant in the coastal city announced Monday.

Maximus, a 1-year-old Belgian Malinois, recently completed basic patrol training and started working in the field with his handler, Officer Anis Trabelsi. The pair have already caught three felony suspects, according to Lt. Leonard Mata.
