Kids attend Survivor Camp with Bryan SWAT
Some youngsters got to see first hand what’s it’s like to be on the front line of law enforcement and they saw just how Bryan’s SWAT team uses their lines to help them rappel down the side of a building.
Members of Bryan PD’s Tactical Team put on a special demonstration for the kids at the Children’s Museum of the Brazos Valley on Wednesday morning.
And who knows, some of the department’s newest recruits could even come from the museum. Some of the staff members strapped on harnesses and showed the kids they would have made police officers, if they hadn’t chosen to go to work at the museum.
During the week long camp, children have the opportunity to get their fingerprints taken and learn all about crime scene investigation, as well as how to interact with the SWAT team and police dogs.
In addition while in Survival School, children will learn some basics about surviving in the wild, such as safe foods they can eat in the wilderness.
Survivor camp with Bryan Police Department at the museum continues through Friday.
