A local Missouri State Highway Patrol trooper has been on a lifelong journey to meet her ultimate fitness potential.
Christine McIntyre weighed 265 pounds. Now, she is 6 percent body fat and competes in figure competitions.
McIntyre, who lives in La Plata, competes in Figure competitions and has completely changed the way she lives.
She says her life now is very different from when she was obese.
“Instead of looking at French Fries and saying it feels good to eat this, I say to myself it feels better to look thin,” McIntyre said.
McIntyre has competed in 2 figure competitions and says they have changed her life. “Going to the fitness competition, outside of having my children, has been one of the best experiences of my life,” she said.
McIntyre’s husband Mark has been her trainer from the beginning. She says she couldn’t have done it without his support.
Since losing weight, McIntyre says she has a new outlook on life. “I used to be afraid to put on a pair of jeans. I know every woman out there knows what I’m talking about…I let myself get way out of control,” she said.
One of McIntyre’s favorite recipes to cook for her children is asparagus on the grill. She says she has convinced her little ones that they are actually green French fries. “After school, they don’t have sugary snacks. Mostly whole grain crackers. It’s become a habit.”
McIntyre also eats turkey burgers regularly when she is training.
With her busy schedule as a mother and full time trooper, she says if she has the time to get in shape, anyone does.
