An American dream for ex-policeman

RETIRED policeman and keen cyclist Andy Perry is hitting the road to wheel his way down the USA’s east coast.

A Lancaster resident for over 30 years, Andy is looking forward to meeting many more Lancastrians on his epic ride but can expect a rather different local accent as his route passes through Lancaster, Pennsylvania.

Beginning in Portsmouth, New Hampshire and ending in Jacksonville, Florida, Andy will cycle an impressive 1,683 miles over 22 days.
Andy selected CancerCare as the beneficiary of his fundraising efforts as, he says, “Many of my friends have been affected by cancer.

“I know of a good half a dozen people who would have loved to do something like this ride but they are no longer with us.

“I have seen what this dreadful disease can do and I felt inspired to do what I could to help.”
