Palm Beach Sheriff’s Office honors fallen deputies
The Sheriff’s Office is planning a tribute to its fallen deputies on Friday, officials said.
Two deputies, Donta Manuel and Jonathan Wallace, were accidentally killed in November by another deputy chasing a stolen car on a remote road near Pahokee. They are among the 14 deputies who will be remembered during a 9 a.m. ceremony at the Sheriff’s Office administration building, 3228 Gun Club Road, west of West Palm Beach.
Details of Friday’s ceremony were not immediately available.
In April, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department presented the Sheriff’s Office here with a plaque in honor of Manuel and Wallace. Their lives and their service to the community were previously celebrated during a funeral in December that drew hundreds of officers and family members.
